In June 2014 Elsa set out to row across the Pacific Ocean, from California to Hawaii. Bad weather, broken equipment and tropical cyclones prevented her from finishing the race, but she saw a fantastic amount of wildlife, carried out seawater sampling for a microplastics study with ASC, and experienced being completely alone for 51 days at sea.
